About Me:

Ever since I was in junior high school, I had a fascination with geography. I grew up in Canada where it is a “required” subject starting in junior high. I originally wanted to be a missionary and travel the world helping underserved children and adults. As time progressed, I had other aspirations and after 2 years of college was hired by the airlines as a flight attendant. I flew with Braniff Airlines for 8 years, until they filed bankruptcy in 1982. I loved to travel and wanted to stay in the travel business, so I decided to attend school to become a Travel agent. I graduated in 1983 and immediately started working at a Travel Agency in Boca Raton, Florida. I was put on the front lines handling constant calls and people walking in the agency. We booked travel to every part of the world for business and leisure travelers. I learned a lot very quickly. I moved into management a couple of years later and learned all I could about the day to day operations of a Travel Agency. I moved to Colorado in 1986 and continued working in the Travel Business again in a busy agency environment. I have traveled to over 80 countries and by bicycle in many European, North American and Asian countries. Karima Tannis

Client Testimonials:

“Oh my! Many, many stories! Everything you planned was fabulous! Thank you for doing so well what we LET you do. ”

Patti: “Thank you for helping us to plan a wonderful, restful vacation. I recommend you to all that ask. ”

Carol: “Thanks so much for the dinner on board the Symphony. It was an unexpected surprise. The cruise was excellent and our cabins were perfect. Thanks for all your help in arranging the details. I wasn’t sure if I would like cruising we are already talking about doing a week for the two of us in February of 2021. Blessings,

C.H. “We had an awesome time. Very laid back and we accomplished a lot in a short time. Sheridan House in Williams AZ was the way to go, lodging wise. Hosts Mark and Deb were amazing and Mark even made us (Deborah and me) vegan breakfast options, per request. The rooms were great and the beds were huge and comfy. The lack of rugrats (kids) was also a plus. My mom had a great time and we saw some great sights of the Grand Canyon. We got in a train trip one day and Canyon Dave’s tour, with driver Keaton, was educational and resulted in many photo ops. Thanks for organizing everything Kari. You do exceptional work! ”

Joe: “We can’t thank you enough for the wonderful time that we had in our travels. Everything went perfectly and connections were all smooth. We had great food, great tours, fun train rides, and a lot of nice walks. You know how to do it right girl….thanks so much.”

Rob: ” First of all, thank you SO much for arranging our trip in New Zealand last September after Worlds in Gold Coast. It was PERFECT! The transfers were all on time – and the bus drivers were like tour guides. We loved traveling in this manner because we had the security of knowing that you had everything planned, but also felt like we had freedom (unlike those we saw with tour groups). Our favorite place was Franz Josef. The little town was quaint and we LOVED hiking on the glacier. Truly breathtaking. It was an amazing trip. You are the BEST!.”

Sue: “Our trip was wonderful. Thank you for doing such a great job organizing and picking such great places.”

Diane: “What a trip! Windstar cruise was fabulous. Loved the small yacht feel. Service was excellent. All of the ports were amazing. We ended up adding Ibiza excursion and so glad we did. Barcelona was a blast – the Indigo is in a great location. We could have stayed there another day. We learned to use the hop on, hop off buses to get a good overview of the cities. The Dom Pedro hotel was very classy . Really glad we added the Sintras visit at the end. Beautiful area in Portugal. Everything turned out wonderful! Thank you for all of your help with the trip! We will definitely do one of these cruises again.”

About Me:

I was born in Siberia, Russia, and travel has been my passion since my parents took me to Georgia and Abkhazia, and then to Uzbekistan as a child. Although I dreamed of becoming a flight attendant and then a ship captain to quench my wanderlust, my career path had initially taken me in a different direction. After receiving a Master’s degree from the University of Georgia (the state, not the country!), I spent 20 years at top advertising agencies in New York before becoming a Luxury Travel Advisor.

As a Travel Advisor, I specialize in designing tailor-made itineraries to less explored parts of the world. Some of my favorite destinations are those that allow one to get close to wildlife (Galapagos Islands, Borneo, South Africa) or marvel at wonders of nature (Tasmania, Patagonia, Palawan). Cultures different from my own fascinate me (Bhutan, including homestays with 2 local families in remote villages, has been my #1 travel experience to date, and Iran is #1 on my bucket list).

I believe that getting to the destination is an integral part of the travel experience. Having mastered the art of collecting and redeeming airline miles and credit card points, most of my flights (and all of the long haul ones) are in Business or First class for very little out- of- pocket. I use this knowledge to devise the best miles redemption strategies for my clients and advise on best routing, seats, airlines, and aircraft types.

CLIENT TESTIMONIALS:

“Jaw-dropping, authentic, gritty, beautiful and eccentric are words I like to experience when I go on my vacation excursions. With Inga my vacations to Vietnam, Laos, Bhutan, and Thailand were all precisely that! We lived with the locals and trekked to Tiger’s Nest in Bhutan, a life-changing experience, chilled with Monks on the Eastern Himalayas, relaxed on a beautiful overnight boat tour of Halong Bay, Vietnam, learned how to cook Lao dishes in Luang Prabang, and even dined at Gaggan, the 7th best restaurant in the world (also featured on Netflix’s Chef’s Table). If you can dream it, Inga will locate it and get you there!” (Edie PM, Los Angeles, CA)

“Inga from WanderWild Travel planned an incredible trip to the Philippines for our group that was the perfect combination of luxurious relaxation and exciting adventures! From ATV’ing through the Chocolate Hills to swimming with Whale Sharks, I had so many amazing experiences on this trip that I will never forget. I’m so grateful to WanderWild Travel for planning this perfect vacation and can’t wait for Inga to plan my next adventure!” (Mary L, New York, NY)

Client Quotes:

Spain was wonderful and we all really appreciated the hard work you put into finding us such great hotels as well as tours and travel suggestions. Our guide at the Alhambra was incredibly knowledgeable as was Sebastian in Madrid. We ended up spending 7.5 hours with him including a long lunch. He sure knows his history and was eager to educate us. I think he appreciated how curious we all were.” -Pam, Laura & Jeff ”

We had a fabulous vacation. The time you spent finding out our needs was clear from the itinerary. You did an unbelievable job on our itinerary and the guides and drivers were awesome. The itinerary was flawless and hotels were very nice. I carefully kept tract of the name of each guide with the intention of singling the best out for praise, but I rate each of them at 10 out 10. They were all exceedingly professional and knowledgeable, projected pride in their work, and did a wonderful job of seamlessly adjusting their tours to match Jackie’s abilities. I will be happy to serve as a reference for you.” -Jackie & Bruce

About Me:

About Me:

My passion for travel began at age 12 when traveling alone on the Orient Express from Paris to Salzburg each summer. After being exposed to numerous foreign nationals at a young age travel sparked my interest with the desire to explore the world. After a career in education and approaching retirement years it seemed only natural to jump start a new career to finally fulfill my dream of travel! Having now worked in the travel industry for 15 years my passion for travel continues! Every vacation package is like my own! Expertise, experience and enthusiasm are key to success. Creating a unique experience with classic flair yet value driven is my goal!

Client Testimonials:

Gudrun has been a godsend for our family, managing five complex trips on three continents. Nothing seems to phase her: special events, unusual housing requests, and family members converging from multiple points. We have visited a favela school in Rio, taken a jeep tour of the Golan Heights, crossed heavily armed boarders, rented an apartment in Rome, and sailed blissfully on a gulet along the Turkish coast. Gudrun has arranged for expert guides and flawless service everywhere we have gone. Traveling by plane, train, speedboat, sailboat, bus and automobile (even camel!), our family has benefited from her attention to detail.
Gudrun has addressed the needs of all the members of our family, from finding the perfect place for a seven year-old’s birthday dinner to arranging activities suitable for a pair of teenage boys and their grandmother! She was indispensable when weather delays in the US caused a significant revision of our itinerary, and I am grateful for her advice and her flexibility. I plan to call on her again for our next adventure.

“I have been blessed with an extraordinary travel agent whom I also consider a close friend – Gudrun Vest. Her knowledge, attention to detail, and customer service is by far the best we have experienced with all of our vendors and agents with whom I have dealt with during the 30+ years I have been traveling. She goes above and beyond the call of duty with cheerfulness and efficiency every time!”
